Odenton, Crofton Residents Asked To Limit Water Use
The county is trying to recover from a water main break Sunday at the Crofton Meadows II Water Treatment Facility.
Odenton and Crofton residents are being asked to limit their water use until Monday morning following a water main break.
The Anne Arundel County Department of Public Works (DPW) said the break affected a main connecting a groundwater production well and the Crofton Meadows II Water Treatment Facility.
It has been repaired and water is now being produced, but officials said they need time to recover water that could not produced during the time of the outage.
DPW asked that residents curb water use until 7 a.m. Monday.
Th county offered the following tips on how to cut down water use:
- Avoid watering of grass
- Avoid the use of sprinklers and other automatic watering devices for purposes of irrigation, watering of gardens, landscaped areas, trees, shrubs and other outdoor plants
- Avoid washing paved surfaces
- Take shorter showers
- Avoid washing partial loads of laundry or dishes
- Inspect and make sure faucets are no running
