National Trivia Day: Do You Know Odenton and Severn?

It's National Trivia Day, so we're taking some time to quiz residents on their knowledge of the community.

Everyone loves a pop quiz right?

Before you run away in horror, it's important to know that Friday is National Trivia Day. This makes it a great day to test your knowledge of the area.

Here are 10 questions. Some of them may be easy. Others may require a little bit of research here on Odenton-Severn Patch or elsewhere.

I have some Patch gear that I can deliver to the first person who can provide all of the correct answers in the comments section. If no one gets them all correct, I'll give the prizes to whoever posts the best score.

Question 1: Who was Odenton named after?

Question 2: What is the name of the apartment complex under construction at the old Nevamar site?

Question 3: Who is the current installation commander at Fort Meade?

Question 4: The son of local developer Jay Winer is a producer and director for what Emmy award-winning comedy show?

Question 5: What local park is the home of the Chesapeake BMX Supertrack?

Question: 6: What local eatery uses an alligator as its mascot?

Question 7: What book did Catherine L. O'Malley write?

Question 8: Until last year, the Gambrills General Store was actually two businesses with separate names. What were they?

Question 9: The bus that shuttles Piney Orchard residents to the MARC station is known by what letter of the alphabet?

Question 10: Who is Perry's Restaurant named after?

Speaking of Perry's, this is a good time to note that the restaurant has Trivia Night every Tuesday. It's a fun time.

This contest closes Monday at 8 p.m., and then I'll announce the winner. Have fun!

Wow, great job guys.

@Junae, you had a more complete answer for #8. You are right that the Covenant Cottage was the name of the gift shop.

@EB - #6 is not Rita's.

Junae gets it!

The NO Kitchen and French Market has a mascot named Girouex. (not sure if I spelled that right.) He's a gator with a chef's hat with a fleur de lis on it.

Nope, Jermans was in the building where David's Natural Market is now. Before Gambrills General Store was Country Feed, Garden, and Pet, Ltd. & Covenant Cottage Gift Shop, it was Tobin Feed and Hardware.
