Local Runners Set for State Championships

A number of runners from local high schools will hit the track Tuesday in Prince George's County for the Class 4A state championships.

 

Runners from Arundel, Meade and Old Mill High Schools will be among those in action Tuesday at the MPSSAA Class 4A Indoor Track and Field Championships.

The competition starts at 4 p.m. at the Prince George's County Sports and Learning Complex in Landover.

Here's a look at the local athletes competing.

Arundel

Ian Wood, senior. Boys 500-meter run, 800-meter run.

Jahil Petgrave, senior. Boys 300-meter run.

Megan McGowan, junior. Girls high jump.

 

Meade

Girls 4 x 400-meter relay team.

Girls 4 x 200-meter relay team.

Deonna Diggs, sophomore. Boys 55-meter hurdles.

Kaila Brooks, junior. 800-meter run.

Darrin Taylor, senior. Boys 800-meter run.

Calvinaugh Jones, senior. Boys 55-meter run.

 

Old Mill

Boys 4 x 800-meter relay team.

Emmanual Mitchell, junior. Boys shot put.

Ian Gancarz, senior. Boys pole vault.

Dillion Posten, senior. Boys pole vault.

Torie Wagner, senior. Boys 500-meter run.

Nick Lavafor, sophomore. 1600-meter run.

Alexis Franklin, senior. Girls 300-meter run, 55-meter hurdles.

Kelsey Terrell, senior. Girls pole vault.
