Leasing Strong at Haven Apartments
Construction is ongoing at the new complex, but people are moving in.
Nearly half of the apartments at the Haven at Odenton Gateway are leased, property officials said, even while construction of units is ongoing.
The complex has accepted leases from about 110 tenants, or 44 percent of the expected total of 252, Property Manager Jennifer Geroux said. The main common areas, including the clubhouse, pool and workout center, are finished.
Leasing began in April, and many residents have moved in. Others have signed leases for apartments still under construction. Full completion of the project is on schedule for August.
"It's very exciting to see the residents coming in now," Geroux said.
She said many of the new tenants are employees of the Department of Defense, who have moved to the area due to the expansion at Fort Meade. Geroux said applicants have been drawn to the property's amenities, including a saltwater pool, fitness classes, an entertainment room and large lounge.
Apartments at The Haven include some high-end details, such as crown molding, granite counter tops and washers and dryers in each unit. Units also have screened-in solariums or balconies and walk-in closets.
Apartments at The Haven range in size from 822 square feet to 1,287 square feet, and base monthly rents range from $1,499 to $1,999. The Haven is currently offering one month of free rent for new leaseholders and a 5 percent discount for DOD and military members.

It cost just as much to rent as it does to buy a house. How about a discount for firefighters? and police? and minority candidates?
Where are the schools? The dream of home ownership is dead. Thank you Obama!
