This weekend marks the first one in December, and local schools and organizations are getting the ball rolling on holiday fun.
Personally, I start to feel a bit of anxiety knowing that I must buy Christmas gifts soon, but it's a reality I've got to face.
In the meantime, there are lots of ways to ease yourself into the holiday spirit.

Old Mill Middle North's 3rd Annual "Holiday Of Happiness Event" this Saturday, Dec. 3, from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. There will be breakfast with Santa, games, silent auctions, chance wheels, secret Santa work shop, bake sale and free crafts for everyone to make. Please come out and support Old Mill Middle North.
A holiday fair and vendor show will take place at Waugh Chapel Elementary School. Santa will be there, and kids can take pictures with Santa. There will also be face painting, a bake sale, a silent auction, lunch and lots of fun!

Kids ages 4 through 12 can come to the food court for the second annual Kidgits Gingerbread Festival. They can create their own work of gingerbread art. Crafting experts will be on hand to offer tips and pointers, and a prize will be awarded for the "Most Creative Gingerbread Art!"
Creations will be displayed through Dec. 24 and can be picked up on Dec. 26, if desired. The cost is $5 for Kidgits members and $10 for the public. RSVP’s are encouraged by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org or calling 410-540-5114.
