Grandson of Odenton's Namesake Dies
Oden Bowie was a former Senate secretary and grandson of the former governor of Maryland.
Oden Bowie, a former secretary of the Maryland Senate, died on Oct. 23 following complications from a fall, news outlets reported.
He was 97.
Bowie's grandfather, also named Oden Bowie, was the former Governor of Maryland and the namesake for the towns of Odenton and Bowie.
The younger Bowie served in the main clerical position with the state senate from 1969 to 1997, the Baltimore Sun reported.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Nov. 23 at Holy Trinity Church, 13106 Annapolis Rd., Bowie.
