Firefighters Respond to Smoke on Betson Court
The fire appears to have stemmed from a building housing a sprinkler manufacturing company.
Firefighters responded to a report of a smoke coming from a building on Betson Court in Odenton Tuesday afternoon.
Accordingt to Capt. Mike Pfalztgraff of the Anne Arundel County Fire Department, units arrived just before 4:30 p.m. to a building at the 1900 block of Betson Court. They initially responded due to a report of an alarm going off, but arrived to find heavy smoke coming from the back of the building, and immediately began an aggressive search to find the source.
Firefighters called for additional resources, but were able to get the fire under control by about 5 p.m., before most other units arrived. There were no reports of injuries.
Firefighters from Anne Arundel County, BWI and Fort Meade were on the scene.
Investigators remained on the scene Tuesday afternoon to investigate the cause of the smoke.
An address search shows that the building houses the offices of Chesapeake Sprinkler, a manufacturer of fire protection equipment.
