There's a lot of construction going on in Odenton.
We reported earlier Wednesday that the new Walgreens on Piney Orchard Parkway is well underway.
There are also apartment complexes under construction on Telegraph Road, on Annapolis Road and near the MARC station. Plus, there's a Patient First center coming along at the Odenton Gateway site, along with a major medical office building.
Which of these is most exciting to you?

None of the above. All of this development makes me ill.
It already takes 3--4 cycles of a traffic light to get thru ANY intersection around here during rush hour. People are already frustrated by the inadequate roads and intersections, resulting in speeding and rude, unsafe driving behaviors as folks try to recoup the time they wasted in waiting to get thru a traffic signal.
Goodness knows we just cannot just LEAVE the woods and fields and nature ALONE and live in "pre-owned" houses, and shop in places where they have already destroyed the character of the neighborhood.

I totally agree Calique. I've already noticed the increased traffic congestion and other unpleasant side effects of more and more people in the area -- and the apartments aren't even occupied yet!! Not at all happy with all this over development.

Agree as well! Even if it is rush hour, it shouldn't take an average of six minutes to get from the MARC entrance/exit on 175 to the 170/175 intersection - something like a 1/3 of a mile! The sad part is that it's mainly the 170/Odenton Road interersection light that's causing all the back-up. (Although the 175/Winmeyer Ave light isn't helping either - a single car pulls up to that light and it will change for them within a few seconds - even though it had just changed 30 seconds ago for another single car...and never mind the 2 mile back up that it's causing on 175......)

I for one agree with you. That's why you see the DEERS walking down the street in broad day light, they have no where else to go. They are saying to them-sleves, I know it was some woods around here last night:)

Concur with all. The overcrowding is more apparent every day. Can't imagine what it will be like in another five years. (More traffic accidents, higher crime, etc?)

After living in Odenton all my life and closing the sale on my home last Friday I can now say that Odenton is a good place to be FROM! AA Co Govt should be ashamed of themselves for letting all this development happen and not do anything about the roads. Back in the late 70's we couldn't get building permits to construct any new homes unless there were " adequate facilities", meaning roads, schools, water and sewer! What happened to those rules? Oh yea, I know..$$$$$$$ in their pockets. Hello Florida!
