The landscape along Telegraph Road continues to change, as demolition crews tore down a second building of the old Nevamar facility this week.

Heavy equipment is still on site moving around large pieces of debris, as a developer prepares to build a large apartment complex with 369 units.

It's now possible to see the full expanse of the north end of the Nevamar property, which was once home to a plastics factory that employed hundreds of area residents.

Developer StonebridgeCarras has partnered with Bozzuto Group to build Flats 170 at Academy Yard, a major apartment complex that will serve as the "gateway" to the Odenton Town Center from the north.

Over time, StonebridgeCarras said it expects to demolish buildings on the rest of the site, with plans for a mix of uses.

I agree with you 100%, we have too many apartments, and nearly not enough businesses for people to shop and eat. we have to travel outside of odenton to those things.

I'm extremely uncomfortable about all the new apartments being built in Odenton. It changes our town completely, and not in a good way.

There are way too many apartments being built in Odenton. I agree with Linda G that there aren't any good restaurants or places like Home Depot being built here. True there's a Lowes on Quarterfield but why do the people in this area have to drive so far for everything? And why do the people who don't know how to plan renovating communities like Odenton end holding the purse strings? Geez, what's so hard about mixing things up and thinking of the people here who are waiting to enjoy some nice amenities for a change? Money can do alot of things but guess it just can't make people smart!!

Demolishing an old big ugly run down building and replacing it with a new beautiful complex that will include shops and offices, restaurants built by an award winning designer... what's not to like? We have offices across the street at 8288 Telegraph and are thrilled about this upcoming complex which will raise everyone's property values.

I agree Roslyn. The Nevamar building has been an eyesore for quite sometime. It's just the apartments I object to because there are so many being built in the area. But all the other stuff sounds great!
