Chesson To Be Honored at All-State Banquet

Record-breaking running back Rob Chesson, a senior at Old Mill High, is among the two best players in the county.

Old Mill High School senior Rob Chesson will be among the two Anne Arundel County students honored at the 2011 Maryland All-State Football Banquet on Sunday afternoon.

Chesson, along with Broadneck High School kicker Adam Greene, will attend the banquet in Glen Burnie to receive special recognition for their achievements, and will even get All-State jackets to commemorate the occasion.

Chesson set a state record for rushing touchdowns in a season with 49 and scored on a two-point conversion to win the state championship game for Old Mill over Quince Orchard in December.

On Feb. 1, he announced his intent to attend Towson University on a full athletic scholarship.

The all-star banquet will be held 4 p.m. Sunday at Michael's Eighth Avenue in Glen Burnie.
