7-Eleven Opens Near Roundabout
After some delays, the store near the traffic circle in east Odenton opened its doors Friday morning.
The new 7-Eleven store near the roundabout in east Odenton opened for business Friday, after weeks of delays related to the construction of its parking lot entrance.
I stopped by this afternoon and the store appeared to be doing a good business, despite little fanfare about its opening. Several customers were drinking coffeee, another bought a DVD.
The store is a bit smaller than the other 7-Eleven in town, as it is essentially rebuilt using the framework of the former gas station convenience store on the site. The parking lot, however, is larger than usual.
A field manager for 7-Eleven said there were delays working with county and state officials in completing the entrances along Odenton Road and Annapolis Road. Even now, the Annapolis Road entrance is not complete, and cars can only enter via Odenton Road.
The store is independently owned by Shahed Siddiqi, who is planning a grand opening celebration on Feb. 24.

Not sure why the parking lot entrance was an issue; when this was an Exxon there was always an entrance on both sides of the parking lot.
I noticed that 7-11 placed 2 park benches on the West side of the parking lot near the trees; I think a picnic table would go well there too and provide a place to eat your 7-11 hot dog.

good thing they built a 7-11 since there was not an option of one down the street.....oh wait.
Ridiculous.

I was hoping for a Sheetz.... anything but a 7/11 that is, as you said j, right down the street!

Seems like a mini/abbreviated 7-11, which makes it even more strange.

I wish the 7-11 down the street had their parking lot !
