Claire Hathway was crowned Junior Miss Dance of Virginia and Julia Williams was crowned Teen Miss Dance of Virginia at the Solo Title Scholarship Competition at the annual convention of Dance Teachers Association of Virginia, Chapter 45 at the Sheraton Oceanfront Hotel in Virginia Beach, Virginia on February 16th, 2013.

Claire is 11 years old and Julia is 13 years old and both are students of Arts 'n Motion Dance Studio in Odenton, Maryland. Both girls are also members of the Arts 'n Motion Performance Company.

This prestigious event in the World of Dance required contestants to participate in scholarship classes, which included all forms of dance, and an interview held by a distinguished panel of judges.  Additionally, contestants performed their solo dance routine which the judges adjudicated.

Claire and Julia are excited to represent Dance Teachers Association of Virginia at the National Solo Title Scholarship Competition at the 129th Annual Convention of Dance Masters of America at the New Orleans Marriott in New Orleans, Louisiana this July. The Dance Masters of America, and their affiliated chapters, is a professional, certified membership organization of artists and educators committed to the elevation of the art of dance and to provide innovative artistic experiences for the advancement of dance worldwide.
