Back to Work Events Offered for Job Seekers

County Executive John Leopold is encouraging job seekers to check out Back to Work Week seminars taking place this week at four locations throughout the county.

"The best way to land a job in this difficult economy is to have an edge that others do not have," County Executive Leopold said in a press release. "These presentations by the Workforce Development Corporation give perspective employees the knowledge and tips they need to be successful."

Eight free seminars are being held at the Arnold, Arundel Mills and Glen Burnie Anne Arundel Career Centers and the West County Library. The seminars will cover various topics, including resume writing, interview skills, networking and the federal job application process.

The events lead up to the Fort Meade Community Job Fair on May 25, which is scheduled to showcase 87 employers.

"Businesses are starting to hire again," said AAWDC president and CEO Kirkland J. Murray. "The week’s events will give Anne Arundel County residents the tools they need to be prepared for the opportunities available."
