Arundel High School Musicians Make Anne Arundel County All-County Concert Band

Arundel High School senior french horn player Amanda McHarg was selected to perform with the 2010-2011 Anne Arundel County Public Schools All-County Concert Band. She was also a member of the 2009-2010 all-county band and a french horn player in this year’s All-County Orchestra that performed last December.

Arundel High School sophomore flutist Amanda Hautmann was one of five musicians from the school to be selected to the 2010-2011 Anne Arundel County Public Schools' All-County Concert Band. This is the second time Hautmann has earned this honor.

Arundel High School sophomore trumpeter Ben Chapman, who is already a member of the Anne Arundel County All-County Jazz Band, earned a second selection on Jan. 5 to the the All-County Concert Band.

Jeremiah Quijote, a sophomore clarinetist at Arundel High School, earned his second selection to the Anne Arundel County Public Schools’ All-County Concert Band on Jan. 5. He also received the honor last year.

Five instrumental musicians from Arundel High School earned spots in the 2010-2011 Anne Arundel County Public Schools' All-County Concert Band after auditions on Jan. 5 at Southern High School in Harwood.

Senior french horn player Amanda McHarg, sophomore clarinetist Jeremiah Quijote, sophomore flutist Amanda Hautmann, and sophomore trumpeters Victoria Banos and Ben Chapman received the honor. This is the second time McHarg, Quijote and Hautmann have been selected for the all-county concert band. All three were members of last year’s ensemble. McHarg had earlier earned a spot in the 2010-2011 all-county orchestra on french horn. Banos and Chapman are receiving their first selections to the all-county concert band. Chapman also successfully auditioned for the 2010-2011 all-county jazz band in December.

The all-county band concert will be held on Feb. 5 at Southern High School in Harwood.
